Menzies Aviation at Chicago O'Hare (ORD) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain airport infrastructure components in outdoor environments. You will diagnose issues using test equipment, manufacturer specs, and industry standards while following safety policies and maintaining thorough records.

The role requires 18+, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or GED, or two years related experience.
  • Must pass pre-employment tests, including a drug test.
  • Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety/maintenance documents.
  • Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems using test equipment, statistics, and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, vessels, hydrant pits, gauges, switches, motors, lights, heaters, meters, hoses, etc.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain records.
  • Support Gauger position as necessary and comply with attendance policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Purpose

What you will be doing

  • Follow company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance.
  • Support Gauger position as necessary.
  • Comply with the station’s attendance policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests, including a drug test.
  • Capable of safelylifting upto 70 lbs. continuously.
  • Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain the security level required for this position.
  • Work is done primarily outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, work is primarily outdoors.
