Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Orbital Welder / TIG Welder to perform high-quality pipe welds for commercial refrigeration projects.

You will set up, calibrate, operate, and inspect orbital welding equipment, welding stainless and carbon steel pipes across our in-house fabrication teams. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of orbital welding experience, competence in welding programming, and a strong TIG background, with the ability to read blueprints and work

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ orbital welding experience including machine setup and operation.
• Proficiency in orbital welding programming and troubleshooting.
• Strong TIG welding background with familiarity in MIG, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to weld quality.

Responsibilities

• Weld pipe ranging from ¾" to 18" (primarily 2"-6").
• Perform precision welds on compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, condensers, and other prefabricated parts.
• Cut, bevel, and fit pipe; set up and operate orbital welding equipment.
• Program and calibrate orbital welding equipment per project specs.
• Inspect and prep materials; perform NDT or visual inspections on welds.

Job Role

The Orbital Welder / TIG Welder is responsible for performing consistent, high-quality pipe welds using orbital welding equipment. The role includes welding setup, calibration, operation, and inspection, and contributes to the fabrication of refrigeration systems. Candidates must be experienced with welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipes and comfortable with fabrication and shop support duties.

Key Duties

• Weld pipe ranging from ¾" to 18" (primarily 2"-6")
• Perform precision welds on compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, condensers, and other prefabricated parts
• Cut, bevel, and fit pipe
• Independently set up, position, and perform welds
• Program and calibrate orbital welding equipment per project specs
• Operate orbital welders to ensure high-quality, consistent welds
• Inspect and prep materials for welding (cleaning, alignment)
• Conduct NDT or visual inspections on welds
• Work with stainless steel, carbon steel, and other materials as needed
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment
• Assist in rigging, fork truck operation, grinding, sanding, brazing, painting, and insulation
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• 3+ years’ orbital welding experience including machine setup and operation
• Proficiency in orbital welding programming and troubleshooting
• Strong TIG welding background with familiarity in MIG, stainless steel, carbon steel
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to weld quality
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.
