Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Orbital Tube Welder to support orbital welding operations in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include setting up welding systems, reading blueprints, and inspecting assemblies with borescope equipment to ensure quality.

Required are a high school diploma and 1+ year welding/machining experience or an equivalency certificate; preferred are orbital weld training certification, 3+ years orbital welding, and an A&P license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of welding, machining or manufacturing experience OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, welding, and/or electronics.
• Certification from a formal orbital weld training program (preferred).
• 3+ years of orbital welding experience (preferred).
• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license (preferred).
• TIG welding and clean room experience (preferred).
• Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures to setup and operate the orbital welding system.

• Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding system

• Maintain a file of all work records

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
• Must be able to work any of the following shifts:
• Monday to Friday: 3:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM
• Thursday to Sunday: 3:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Thursday to Sunday: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
• Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay Range:
Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00
Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50
Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
