We are seeking an experienced Orbital Analyst, Operator, and Trainer in support of SDA missions and analytical activities across a range of operational and technical efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and SDA, along with the analytical judgement necessary to characterize satellite behavior and communicate mission-relevant findings, either as an Operator or Trainer developing subject matter expertise.
The Orbital Analyst will utilize company propriety software suite of tools to analyze historical and real-time space data, assess routine and anomalous satellite activity, and develop clear, defensible assessments to support operational and technical decision-making. The analyst may support government, commercial, and allied mission partners, including operational SDA environments such as the Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) construct, and will collaborate with KBR analysts, operators, customers, and software development personnel to improve analytical workflows, procedures, and product capabilities.
This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted trainer and subject matter expert at the forefront of SDA, developing the next generation of operators responsible for protecting and understanding the space domain. By integrating real-world mission scenarios, historical and live space data, and emerging SDA capabilities, the ideal candidate will prepare operators and mission partners to assess satellite activity, identify anomalies, and make informed decisions in high-pressure environments. Working alongside government, commercial, allied, and JCO partners, the candidate will help cultivate mission-ready professionals while continuously advancing analytical tradecraft, operational procedures, and training methodologies that strengthen the readiness and effectiveness of the broader space enterprise.
The ideal candidate is an experienced SDA professional with a strong background in orbital analysis, astrodynamics, satellite characterization, and operational mission support; able to learn software SDA suite of tools to perform required mission work. They possess analytical judgement to evaluate complex space data, identify significant satellite activity, and deliver timely, technically defensible assessments in support of national security space missions. The candidate should be capable of supporting steady-state and surge operations across USSPACECOM operations centers, including augmenting JCO operations during high-priority events, contingencies, and periods of increased mission demand.
The ideal candidate works effectively with analysts, operators, software developers, and mission stakeholders to improve analytical workflows, operational procedures, and SDA capabilities. They can also translate complex technical concepts into practical instruction, deliver training on SDA tools and orbital warfare concepts, and support exercises and mission rehearsals. Strong technical expertise, sound operational judgement, communication skills, and adaptability are essential to success in this role.
Basic Compensation: $130-$190K
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
