Job summary

Omitron, Inc. in California is seeking an Orbital Analyst Engineer to work on orbital analysis, space defense, and satellite collision avoidance at the Vandenberg SFB site.

You will solve orbital mechanics problems, process orbit state data, and contribute to conjunction assessment while coordinating with multiple teams. This role requires knowledge of astrodynamics, Linux, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of space-related experience in SSA, satellite catalog maintenance, orbital analysis, and collision avoidance.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics.
• Experience with space object tracking sensors, networks, and data.
• Proficiency in Linux-based OS (Red Hat / Fedora).
• Familiarity with Astrodynamics Support Workstation or similar tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Solve orbital mechanics problems and process data for orbit states and predictions.
• Coordinate information across multiple functional areas to develop and deliver products for customer situational awareness.
• Explore broader work in conjunction assessment, proximity operations, and related orbit analysis tasks.
• Crew work with outside normal business hours as required.
