Job summary

Oral Surgery Partners is seeking a Sterilization Technician for Leavenworth Oral Surgery to ensure instruments and rooms are properly prepared and sterile for procedures.

You will decontaminate, clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments, operate autoclaves and related equipment, and maintain logs per OSHA guidelines. A high school diploma and prior sterile processing or dental/medical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in dental, oral surgery, medical, or sterile processing preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA, infection control, and universal precautions in a clinical setting.
• Experience with surgical instruments, identification, inspection, and tray assembly.
• Hands-on use of sterilization and cleaning equipment (autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, steam sterilizers).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical or surgical environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, packaging, and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and other reprocessing equipment.
• Monitor cycles and maintain logs for compliance and traceability.
• Inspect instruments and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Assemble and prepare surgical trays and materials for procedures.
• Assist with setup/breakdown of surgical rooms and ensure supplies are ready.
• Maintain OSHA and infection control standards in the work environment.
• Support clinical staff during procedures and ensure proper instrument flow.
• Manage inventory of instruments, supplies, and sterilization materials.
• Participate in ongoing training on sterilization techniques and safety.
