Job summary

Empire dental Specialty Group in Ohio is seeking a dedicated dental assistant to support oral surgery procedures. You will assist the oral surgeon, prepare rooms and instruments, and manage imaging and post-operative instructions for patients.

The role requires a current dental assistant license/registration, 6+ months of experience, and proficiency in radiography and infection control. A collaborative, patient-focused team environment is offered with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active license/registration as required by state
• 6+ months of experience as a dental assistant, preferably in oral surgery
• Proficient in surgical assisting techniques and infection control protocols
• Comfortable taking high quality radiographs and CBCT scans
• Able to anticipate procedural needs and remain calm under pressure
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and patient rapport
• Reliable, punctual, detail oriented, and a strong team player
• Dental Assistant certification or registration as required by state law

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during procedures including extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, and biopsies
• Prepare the treatment room, surgical trays, instruments, and anesthesia equipment
• Take and process panoramic, periapical, and 3D cone beam CT images as needed
• Provide detailed post operative instructions to patients and caregivers
• Sterilize instruments and maintain an OSHA compliant surgical environment
• Accurately record patient medical histories and surgical documentation
• Manage surgical supply inventory and ordering
• Assist with sedation monitoring (nitrous and IV) per office protocol and state guidelines
