Job summary

Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking an Oral Surgery Assistant I in Denver, NC. This full-time role supports the surgeon during minor procedures, handles instrument setup, and participates in room turnover with supervision.

Responsibilities include EMR entries, radiographs, impressions, digital scans, and suture management. Requires a high school diploma and nitrous oxide course completion or equivalent anesthesia CE, with on-the-job training available.

• Set up for non-sterile and sterile procedures under supervision with appropriate instruments and supplies
• Assist surgeon during minor procedures including suctioning, retracting, and passing instruments
• Circulate on procedures and complete EMR entries, paperwork and logs
• Perform other duties such as radiographs, impressions, digital scans, splint management and suture removal

Oral Surgery Assistant I

Salary Range: $20.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Start your career in oral surgery in a role that allows you to observe, train, and participate with supervision in setting up for minor surgical procedures, assisting in minor procedures, instrument processing, room turnover, and other clinical duties as needed.

Here are some of the job duties you will perform:

• Set up for non-sterile & sterile procedures (under supervision) with appropriate instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist surgeon during minor surgical procedures including suctioning, retracting, passing instruments, providing airway support under supervision of Oral Surgery Assistant II/III, Surgical Tech, or RN, until core competencies are met.
• Circulates on surgical procedures, completing necessary EMR (electronic medical record) entries, paperwork, logs, etc.
• Performs other procedures as directed (capture radiographs, take/pour dental impressions, capture intraoral digital scans, remove surgical splints, fit splints, remove sutures, place packs, etc.).

To be considered for this role, you need to have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of approved nitrous oxide course
• Anesthesia-related continuing education

Or obtained within 90 days of employment

Or obtained within one year of employment
