Position Type: Full Time Regular

Schedule: 4 10-hour days

Expected Hiring Range: $350,000 - $500,000

Position Summary

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) is a dental specialist who supports Willamette Dental Group’s evidence‑based treatment philosophy, mission, vision and core values by diagnosing and treating diseases that involve the head, face, jaw, neck and sinuses. The OMFS extracts teeth that are impacted, infected, or damaged by disease. They perform biopsies, bone grafts, sinus surgeries, surgery to support orthodontic treatment, as well as pre‑prosthetic surgery. The OMFS provides varying levels of anesthesia, including local, nitrous oxide, minimal and moderate sedation, and general anesthesia.

Essential Position Functions
  • Embody Willamette Dental Group’s treatment philosophy, mission and values and ensure they are portrayed throughout the practice.
  • Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, at the highest available scope of licensure per the applicable state’s Dental Practice Act.
  • Serve as a resource for other practitioners in the company regarding the management of medically complex and surgically complex patients.
  • Assist with coordinating multiple schedules during the work day ensuring patients have appropriate access to care and an exceptional experience.
  • Ensure quality care and adherence to the company treatment philosophy: reviewing data from the dashboard, specialty referrals, EV Report and be counseled as needed.
  • Adhere to the criteria of the office strategic goals, including the economic value report, Press Ganey, and access metrics.
  • Embrace patient transparency with the experience being foremost.
  • Obtain and maintain Nitrous Oxide credentials and/or other forms of sedation.
  • Strict adherence to OSHA and blood‑borne pathogens policies.
  • Follow FDA and ALARA principle guidelines when taking intra‑oral and panoramic radiographs.
  • Diagnose and treat dental issues related to disease, malformations and injuries and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Strict adherence to Willamette Dental Group’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy, including N95 respirators and other PPE as required.
Education And Experience
  • Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and/or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). Successful completion of a traditional pre‑doctoral dentistry program and valid licensure in the specific state(s) where practicing.
Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
  • Licensed as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Licensed as a Doctor of Medicine (MD), when applicable.
  • DEA registration.
  • Maintenance of BLS certification.
  • Actively seeking or has achieved board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. At a minimum, maintain state board’s equivalent of a minimal sedation permit.
  • Maintain appropriate certifications to support the provider’s anesthesia permit (e.g., ACLS, PALS).
Compensation

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible employees accrue a minimum of 120 PTO hours per employment year in addition to seven paid holidays annually. The Company’s PTO program combines vacation and sick leave, which is more generous than Washington State’s Sick Leave Law. Employees in part‑time roles working less than 40 hours per week accrue PTO on a pro‑rated basis.

Physical Requirements

The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
