Job description

Oral Surgeon

We are seeking an Oral Surgeon to join our team to provide comprehensive oral surgical care to pediatric patients. The individual will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for patients undergoing oral surgical procedures. The Oral Surgeon will also participate in education and research initiatives within the hospital.

Responsibilities include:
  • Performing a wide range of oral surgical procedures on pediatric patients, including but not limited to:
  • Extractions
  • Corrective jaw surgery
  • Implant placement
  • Oral pathology treatment
  • Collaborating with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, otolaryngologists, plastic surgeons, and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Providing pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient evaluation, consultation, and follow-up appointments.
  • Participating in hospital rounds, conferences, and meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies.
  • Contributing to the education and training of dental residents, medical students, and healthcare professionals through lectures, clinical demonstrations, and mentorship.
  • Engaging in scholarly activities such as research projects, publications, and presentations at conferences.
  • Adhering to hospital policies, professional standards, and guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality care.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
Qualifications:
  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
  • Valid dental license and ability to obtain medical licensure in Ohio.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of current surgical techniques and pediatric care practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience:
  • Minimum of three years post-residency experience in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery preferred.
  • Experience managing complex pediatric cases, including trauma and congenital anomalies.
  • Active involvement in academic and professional activities such as publications and presentations.

This position qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness as it is a 501(c)(3) site.
