Job summary

Summit Oral Surgery is seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our well-established team. You will prepare and sterilize instruments, escort patients to the operatory, and assist the surgeon during procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires CPR certification, dexterity, and the ability to document details in the EHR. Occasional travel between offices may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must maintain CPR certification.
• Dexterity and manual skills for handling surgical instruments.
• Ability to anticipate patient and team needs.
• Occasional travel between office locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
• Escort each patient to the operatory in a timely manner.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.
• Assist in preparing patients for surgery and monitor vital signs and anesthesia levels.
• Confirm medical history with patient and update as needed.
• Ensure patient is educated on the treatment being performed.
• Assist the oral surgeon by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing materials during surgery.
• Document patient information and surgical details in the EHR.
• Provide post-operative care instructions and follow-up.
• Stock operatories and sterilization areas.
• Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant manner.
