Under the direction of the Oral Health Division Director, employee serves as innovative strategist, provides management of public health programs consistent with the DPH Strategic Plan, and the SC State Oral Health Plan.

  • Serves as the partnership coordinator and innovation strategist for all new grant related activity within the division; facilitates completion of grant activities per the project proposal; coordinates grant activities with partner sections and agencies in order to meet grant deliverables. Assists with grant budget, reporting, and evaluation to include data collection. Analyzes data associated with the grant to monitor performance and track deliverables.
  • Provide management of the following programs consistent with the SC State Oral Health Plan (SOHP) Regional Office community oral health outreach efforts; Medical-Dental Integration initiatives including the DPH Chronic Disease-Oral Health Program. Assures consistent communication with the DPH Diabetes program, DPH Regional Staff, The SOH project(s) evaluator and the Communication and Outreach Consultant, Provides community oral health education and training to outreach programs on a state level.
  • Provides support to the DPH Regional staff in efforts to link medical and dental providers and additional community programs through an integrated network for care coordination management and community outreach. Conducts provider training for medical and dental providers.
  • The State Implementation Coordinator for the Maternal Child Health (MCH) -Improving Oral Health Integration (IOHI) / SC Integration Demonstration (SCID) Project will provide project oversight and will coordinate with the State Core Function Team and the Alliance to meet the deliverables of the SC Integration Demonstration Project. Provide guidance and support to facilities, offering expertise and resources to help them with the integration process within the existing framework. Will be expected to foster collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Serves as the OD2A Oral Health Lead for the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) Initiative. The Section of Oral Health (DOH) is partnering with the Division of Injury and Substance Abuse Prevention (DISAP) to support opioid prevention activities in South Carolina through the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) initiative, and expanding the reach of OD2A by working with dental providers to address this crisis. Develop an Awareness Campaign, establish/expand the Medical-Dental Integration (MDI) Leadership Team of experts to look at Opioid/Dentistry/Oral Health Education and Awareness, provide sessions/lunch and learns (CE Accreditation), maintain strong partnerships, including Champions-Members of the Medical Dental Integration Leadership Team, while measuring reportable success.
  • Other duties assigned related to the position.

Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines; Excellent analytical, organizational, and management skills: Experience leading teams and work groups; Proven ability to work independently. Preferred qualifications: One (1) year experience providing public health management for public health dental prevention programs.

State Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
