Job Description

Metrics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Developer as we compete for a contract with the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), Agency Information Technology Services. This contract focuses on Business Reporting Development & Maintenance. The GPO requires expert Oracle development skills to support their data-driven reporting systems, database management, and application integration. This position will be on-site in Washington, DC to support the GPO environment. Work can also be performed remotely per GPO’s IT Security regulations and telework policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Oracle database solutions to support business reporting and data warehousing needs.
• Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers within Oracle environments.
• Collaborate with data warehouse and software developers to integrate Oracle databases into wider application ecosystems.
• Assist in the migration and deployment of Oracle database components across development, test, and production environments.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions within Oracle platforms.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure high availability and efficiency.
• Support data extraction and reporting processes using Oracle tools in coordination with Power BI and other BI developers.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain quality and compliance with agency standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Oracle database development and integration.
• Maintain security controls and access permissions in accordance with federal guidelines and organizational policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database development and administration.
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience working with data warehousing concepts and business intelligence tools.
• Knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualization and reporting tools.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Synapse or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience integrating Oracle databases with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Security clearance or ability to pass federal background checks as required.
• Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) or equivalent credentials.
