Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC is seeking a DBMS Engineer/Administrator in Sunnyvale, CA to install, upgrade, patch and optimize Oracle databases. You will manage RAC/Data Guard configurations, implement replication (GoldenGate or HVR), and ensure high availability through backup, recovery and tuning.

You will design new databases, write patches, develop automation scripts, and monitor systems for peak performance. Strong data governance and security practices are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle installation, upgrade, and patching across RAC and non-RAC environments.
• Hands-on replication setup and failover troubleshooting (GoldenGate or HVR).
• Proven ability to ensure production uptime with backup, recovery, refresh, and tuning.
• Experience with data cleansing, data integrity verification and access controls.
• Routine maintenance: space/storage management, logical/physical layout, rollback segments.

Responsibilities

• Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations.
• Write and deploy SQL patches; maintain database programs for data flow and storage capacity.
• Design new databases based on company needs and user load; monitor databases for high availability.
• Develop scripts for deployment, operation, and issue resolution; troubleshoot platform performance.
• Review reports daily/weekly/monthly to spot problems and ensure peak performance.
• Provide proactive recommendations for system improvements and data governance.
• Collate and present statistical information for internal and external use.
