Job Description

Oracle Database Administrator, Clearance Required – TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Please note, this position requires all candidates to currently possess an active Top-Secret SCI Clearance with a Polygraph. This position is not an opportunity to be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance.

The Work:

The selected candidate will support a complex system with exacting interface, performance, and security requirements, providing database engineering expertise in architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design/implementation, testing, and documentation. Responsibilities include analyzing user and system requirements, developing system architecture and design documentation, supporting configuration documentation, capacity, and performance planning, and performing risk assessments and analyses related to system issues. The role also involves providing solutions to technical problems in distributed data replication, concurrent data access, and high availability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in Database Administration or Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related discipline, or four (4) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in database tasks such as data migration, replication, user administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, issue investigation, and resolution.
  • Knowledge of databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL and general SQL.
  • Knowledge of programming languages including Java.
  • Commitment to best practices, effective planning, and high-quality work in a team or independent setting.

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
  • Over 10 years of high-level database experience.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies like SAFe.
  • Experience with Cassandra and MongoDB.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will guide and support database engineering for large-scale systems within a distributed network environment, collaborating with technical teams and participating in Agile activities. Duties include supporting database design, development, system improvement analysis, database structure development, and translating requirements into database schemas and queries.
