Oracle Data Platform Multicloud Architect
The Oracle North America Sales Engineering team is seeking a talented Oracle Data Platform Multicloud Architect to drive the adoption of Oracle ExadataDB@Multicloud (deployed on Azure, AWS, and GCP). This pre‑sale and post‑sale technical advisor role provides guidance to customers exploring, test‑driving, and implementing Oracle DB@Multicloud solutions. We are specifically looking for experienced Oracle Exadata Database Architects to share deep technical implementation guidance on large database workload migrations to cloud.
Role Overview
- Serve as the trusted advisor to clients, helping them leverage the power of our Oracle Cloud Data Platform technologies—including Oracle ExadataDB, Oracle Autonomous DB, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Autonomous Recovery Service, and Oracle Golden Gate—to drive innovation and growth.
- Collaborate with Oracle North America’s enterprise strategic customers to build solutions on Oracle DB@Multicloud (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS).
- Engage clients during pre‑sale and post‑sale cycles, advising on adoption and implementation of Oracle DB workloads on Azure, GCP, and/or AWS using Oracle Multicloud Data Platform.
- Apply broad and deep Oracle ExadataDB experience in architecture, solution selling, and implementation.
- Design and architect cutting‑edge solutions, considering unique challenges and opportunities, to grow Oracle’s Multicloud Data Platform business in North America.
- Travel up to 25% and work from home 75%; travel to customers in local metro areas and broader US East & US Central coverage.
- Near‑NYC candidates with financial services, insurance, or high‑tech industry experience receive added consideration.
- Candidate expertise in competitor offerings such as Snowflake and Databricks is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers to understand their data journey—migration, integration, and modernization—and propose tailored Oracle ExadataDB cloud data platform solutions.
- Design and architect cloud‑native data platforms, leveraging OCI services; focus on Exadata, Autonomous Database, and Generative AI for advanced analytics.
- Provide thought leadership and best practices to optimize data architecture and improve business outcomes.
- Conduct technical workshops and presentations to educate customers and partners on data platform capabilities and benefits.
- Guide customers step‑by‑step on Oracle ExadataDB@Multicloud deployments, including cloud tenancy setup, ExadataDB provisioning, and Azure/GCP/AWS networking and security configurations.
- Stay informed about competitor offerings (Snowflake, Databricks) and market trends to develop compelling value propositions.
- Collaborate with Oracle Product Management, Product Development, and Support teams to provide feedback and influence focused feature development.
- Share knowledge across the Oracle Sales Engineering organization to foster continuous learning.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive solution architecture and hands‑on implementation experience with Oracle Exadata (on‑premise, ExadataCloud@Customer, ExadataCloudService, and/or Oracle Autonomous DB).
- In‑depth knowledge of cloud data platform technologies—data warehousing, data lakes, and real‑time analytics.
- Expertise in Oracle cloud data platform offerings—Exadata, Autonomous Database, and Generative AI.
- Decade‑plus experience as an Oracle Database Administrator using RMAN, Data Guard, Transportable Table Spaces, ZDM, and other migration tools.
- Proficiency in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques.
- Experience with cloud‑based data warehousing, lake architecture, and modern data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
- Programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages for data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, simplifying complex technical concepts.
- Industry certifications such as Oracle DBA Certified, OCI Architect, AWS Architect, Azure Architect, GCP Architect, Snowflake Certified Architect, and/or Databricks Certified Associate are highly valued.
Preferred Background
- Oracle DBA or DB Migration Architect/Engineer with deep industry‑specific data challenge knowledge.
- Hands‑on Oracle DB practitioner or technical consultant experience—providing guidance on architecture, design, sizing, provisioning, tenancy buildout, and DB migrations to cloud.
- Leading data platform migration projects to cloud environments.
- Location preference: NY, NJ, PA, OH, Washington DC Metro, Atlanta, Charlotte, NC.
