SES Corporation seeks an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and secure cloud solutions across Oracle Cloud and other platforms. The role includes hands-on coding, architecture reviews, and mentoring a small engineering team.

You will drive DevSecOps practices, work across Dev, Ops, Security, and PM, and ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, among others. A strong security mindset and collaboration across teams are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years or Master's with 6+ years of experience.
• Must have an active Secret clearance and US citizenship.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, SAML, and related security standards.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Oracle Cloud and multi-cloud SaaS offerings.

This role supports the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract and currently has an opening for an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. This position focuses on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineering and Support and will coordinate across multiple areas as the program supports AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness. We are seeking highly capable Cloud Architects with expertise in multiple cloud platforms. A successful individual will be responsible for designing scalable cloud-native solutions, leading development efforts, and ensuring best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security. This is a combination management and hands-on technical role that requires rolling up your sleeves to architect, code, debug, and mentor.

Requirements

• Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across Oracle Cloud infrastructureand others
• Develop cloud strategy and roadmaps aligned with organization objectives and technical requirements.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential impact on organizational goals.
• Drive adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks.
• Optimize application performance and reliability in cloud environments
• Design secure cloud architectures implementing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
• Implement / integrate with identity and access management solutions and security monitoring frameworks.
• Facilitate customer onboarding and implement a consistent pathway to cloud adoption.
• Manage and optimize Oracle cloud environments, networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, and SQL systems.
• Implement and maintain tools and services such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole to support DevSecOps practices.
• Containerize applications to enhance scalability and deployment efficiency.
• Support the design and development of Shared Services.
• Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
• Establish and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring their performance and reliability.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation to support development and operational processes.
• Conduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and product management.
• Create reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementations.
• Technical Leadership:
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Present architectural designs and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Mentor, guide and supervise development teams of up to 5 engineers and technical specialists on cloud-native application design and deployment.
• Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical decisions

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years or more of experience; Master's and 6+ years or more of experience, additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
• Must have an active Secret clearance
• US citizenship required.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2)
• Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a customer-facing position.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux Servers, and related services.
• Strong understanding Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML and the standards, procedures, and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience with Ansible, Oracle console, Elastic, Jira, Confluence, Git, and multiple OCI cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.
• Experience onboarding customer log-data from cloud platforms to on-premises or cloud-based analysis environments such as Elastic or Splunk

Preferred Skills

• Experience with USAF Cloud One or Platform 1.
• Experience with Zero Trust Architecture
• 4+ years of prior experience managing/leading teams/projects
