MLK Community Hospital is seeking an OR Technician LDRP to support the Maternal Child Health team in Los Angeles. The role involves maintaining aseptic technique, sterilization, and assisting with various OB surgical procedures to ensure high-quality perioperative patient care.
The technician will work under supervision with the Labor and Delivery team, demonstrate strong concentration and accuracy, and uphold the hospital's mission and core values through engaged teamwork and safety.
The OR Technician LDRP will report to the Director of Maternal Child Health and work under the supervision of Manager of Maternal Child Health. He/she will assists the Labor and Delivery Team in providing high quality health care to the patients require surgical intervention. He/she will apply knowledge of aseptic technique, principles of sterilization and understanding of the purpose and use of surgical instruments. This position requires close concentration and high degree of accuracy and organization to prepare, set up and assists on various surgical procedures. OR Technician LDRP will be responsible as an individual and as part of the team to perform to the highest of standards in order to provide the best possible results in the perioperative patient care. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality and performance improvement process activities.
A. Education
High School Diploma required
B. Qualifications/Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an OB surgical setting preferred.
Basic Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
C. Special Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of current infection control practices, instruments and sterilization procedures.
