The OR technician at Brown University Health supports the Perioperative Nurse and surgical team by positioning patients, transporting between areas, and assisting with intraoperative tasks. The role emphasizes patient safety, aseptic technique, and collaboration with physicians and nurses.

The OR technician reports to the Professional Nurse and performs a variety of technical and patient care functions that provide assistance to the Perioperative Nurse and Surgical Team in planning and implementing operation room activities. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patients. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals, physicians’ offices and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact. Any potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including use safety equipment and protective clothing.

Pay Range: $18.00-$27.13
