Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health - NCH is seeking an Operating Room Surgical Technician to support sterile technique and assist in operative and invasive procedures in the Med Plaza OR. You will scrub for cases and assist circulating under RN supervision, contributing to patient safety and efficiency.

The role requires a surgical technology program graduate, BLS certification, and basic computer skills. This per diem position supports a dedicated OR team in Naples, FL with day shifts and routine case

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited program for Surgical Technologist.
• National certification or eligibility required.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains asepsis in the surgical suite and monitors technique.
• Tracks implants and handles equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce waste and expenses.
• Sets up and turns over the operating room efficiently.
• Scrubs on all cases across services when needed.
• Demonstrates flexibility and effective teaching with the team.
• Educates and demonstrates competency on specialty equipment.
• Restocks supplies in the department as needed.

Job Summary

The Operating Room Surgical Technician functions in the surgical scrub role for operative and invasive procedures and performs all related duties as assigned, and may assist in circulating duties under RN supervision. They will perform one or more special assignments to maintain specialty service. They will submit one or more customer service or expense reduction initiatives annually.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintains asepsis in surgical suite. Observes all members of surgical team for breaks in technique.
• Tracks implants and handles equipment per manufactures guidelines.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce waste and expense.
• Efficiently uses time in setting up and turning over room.
• Has the ability to scrub all cases in all services efficiently.
• Demonstrates flexibility with assignments to benefit, entice or flow.
• Demonstrates effective teaching skills with good communication and standards of behavior compliance.
• Can demonstrate, educate and measure competency on specialty equipment within service specialty.
• Restocks supplies in the department as needed.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Graduate of accredited program for Surgical Technologist.
• National certification or certification eligible.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
