Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation and verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification according to hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
