Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a Chicago-area academic, quaternary care system delivering compassionate care across multiple hospitals. This full-time day-shift role is within the Surgical Services team, focusing on specialty areas and collaboration with surgeons to maintain preference cards and comprehensive patient plans.

We seek someone with an Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology, CPR certification, and 4–6 years of related experience (7+ preferred).

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology required.
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) required.
• 4-6 years of previous job-related experience. Preferred: 7 plus years of job-related experience
• Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care in the Operating Room using aseptic technique while focusing on the needs of the surgical patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care.
• Oversees orientation in the clinical specialty and coordinates with physicians in their respective specialties; maintains specialty preference cards on a quarterly basis.
• Supports in-room activities and contributes to a comprehensive surgical plan of care for assigned patients.

What you’ll do:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Surgical Services and or designee, has expertise in a specific surgical specialty area or areas. Responsible for the care delivered within the clinical specialty; for overseeing orientation in the clinical specialty; coordinating with physicians in their respective specialties, communication of material intensive needs, and supporting in-room activities. For the specialty, will have the responsibility of meeting with the Surgeon and maintaining the preference cards of the specialty assigned on a quarterly basis.
Provides patient care in the Operating Room by utilizing aseptic technique while focusing on the needs of the surgical patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation. As a contributing member of the health care team, participates in a comprehensive surgical plan of care for assigned patients.

What you’ll need for this job:

• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 4-6 years of previous job-related experience. Preferred: 7 plus years of job-related experience
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist

Compensation:

Pay Range: $26.40 - $42.24 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
