Job summary

AdventHealth Denver is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our acute care team on the Day shift. You will assess patient conditions, develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team, and administer medications safely according to protocols.

With 1+ year of medical-surgical experience, you’ll collaborate to optimize outcomes, educate patients and families, and participate in quality improvement. We offer Day One benefits, professional development, and a supportive community.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Nursing required.
  • 1+ year medical-surgical experience required.
  • 1+ year surgery experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • EMR charting experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
