Vista Specialty Hospital seeks an OR Registered Nurse to deliver perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical or procedural interventions in a Long-Term Acute Care setting. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes managing complex, medically fragile patients with extended hospitalization, including ventilator-dependent individuals, and requires strong aseptic technique and EMR documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN) required or equivalent.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perioperative care before, during, and after surgery.
• Verify patient identity, site, and procedure.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes during procedures.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and safe transfer to recovery.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields; assist surgeons by passing instruments.
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, physicians, and team members.
• Ensure equipment availability and functionality for procedures.
• Document all perioperative care and patient responses in the EMR.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Promote patient safety and infection prevention; participate in safety checks.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and postoperative expectations.
