Start date is October 19, 2026, ending January 18, 2027, with duties spanning obstetric and gynecologic procedures. Requirements include 5+ years in the OR, current BLS, NBSTSA/NCCT CST certification, and recent obstetric/gynecologic experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of OR or Surgical Tech experience, including Labor & Delivery.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • NBSTSA or NCCT CST certification; CST accepted when applicable.
  • Recent obstetric/gynecologic surgical procedure experience.
  • Proficiency with sterile technique, instrument processing, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and with a care team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ORs and Labor & Delivery areas for scheduled and emergent cases.
  • Provide scrub support for C-sections and obstetric/gynecologic procedures.
  • Identify and pass instruments while maintaining a sterile field.
  • Assist with instrument decontamination, sterilization, and processing workflows.
  • Support wound care, dressing changes, and post-procedure turnover.

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Labor & Delivery Travel Assignment

Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

Certified Surgical Technologist Job Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Operating Room or Surgical Technologist, including Labor & Delivery experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification; CST credential accepted when applicable
  • Recent experience with obstetric and gynecologic surgical procedures
  • Proficiency with sterile technique, instrument processing, decontamination, sterilization, and surgical safety protocols
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, and adapt to changing clinical needs
  • Two professional references covering at least one year of recent experience may be required during compliance
  • Willingness to float to nearby affiliated units or facilities when assignment needs require
OB Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms and Labor & Delivery procedure areas for scheduled and emergent cases
  • Provide scrub support for C-sections, vaginal deliveries, abdominal hysterectomies, vaginal hysterectomies, dilation and curettage, cervical cerclage, bilateral tubal ligation, and other obstetric or gynecologic procedures
  • Organize, identify, and pass instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining a sterile field
  • Assist with laparoscopic-assisted gynecologic procedures and the safe use of electrosurgical units
  • Follow universal protocol, time-out procedures, aseptic technique, sharps safety, and fire safety standards
  • Handle, label, and transport specimens accurately according to established procedures
  • Support instrument decontamination, sterilization, disinfection, and processing workflows
  • Assist with wound care, dressing changes, suture removal, and post-procedure room turnover as needed
  • Promote a calm, safe, and patient-centered environment for patients and their families
