Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, Texas is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality perioperative care across a wide range of specialties. The role emphasizes intraoperative patient care in a multi-suite, high-volume environment with opportunities in open-heart, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, orthopedic, robotic, bariatric, and complex procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma/associate/bachelor’s).
• Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact with Texas license required within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1 year operating room experience as a licensed RN in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulating and scrub nurse duties and ensure rooms are prepped, timed, and cleaned.
• Verify pre-op checklists and manage case readiness 15 minutes before scheduled times; provide intraoperative handoff reports to PACU.
• Relay lab or imaging results to the surgeon and coordinate documentation of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Administer medications and provide patient/family education across lifespan; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.

Education

Diploma/Associates/Bachelor's in Nursing
