Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a skilled OR surgical support professional to join our operating room team. You will assist the surgeon, prepare the OR, and ensure instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for cases.

Applicants should have nursing training or extensive surgical experience, be able to lift, stand all day, and work on-call shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an approved School of Nursing, or has had extensive training in surgery.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have prior Med/Surg. experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon with procedures and maintain OR setup.
• Prepare operating room for surgery and ensure sterility of instruments.
• Perform sponge, instrument and needle counts at defined case stages.
• Clean instruments and OR suite after cases and document charting.
• Assist physicians in ER on call and prepare needed instruments.
• Set up equipment for diagnostic procedures and assist during studies.
