Job summary

OCOM in Oklahoma City seeks a Surgical Registered Nurse to provide peri-operative care to patients. Responsibilities include direct nursing during surgical procedures and coordinating with the operating room director regarding any issues.

The ideal candidate must hold a current Oklahoma nursing license, and BCLS certification is required. ACLS and PALS must be obtained within six months of employment. This is a PRN position with varied shifts from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Current License in the State of Oklahoma is mandatory.
• BCLS required; PALS, ACLS required within 6 months.
• Minimum one year experience as surgery circulating nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and care of patients during the peri-operative period.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients during surgical procedures.

Overall Responsibility

The Surgical Registered Nurse is responsible for the preparation and care of patient during the peri-operative period. Provide direct nursing care to patients during their surgical procedures at the Hospital, in accordance with AORN standards. Keep OR Director informed of problems involving patients, surgeons and equipment in the OR.

Required Skills

• Current License in the State of Oklahoma
• BCLS required; PALS, ACLS required within 6 months of employment

Required Experience

• Minimum of one year experience as surgery circulating nurse preferred
• Orthopedic specialty preferred
