Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare seeks a dedicated hospital associate to clean operating rooms and transport patients and items between departments. You will adhere to aseptic techniques and safety standards while supporting patient care teams in a high-demand surgical environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleaning supplies, assisting in throughput from Pre-op to CVICU, and participating in quality initiatives to meet hospital and DNV standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• HEARTSAVER - American Heart Association certification required.
• Experience with pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains operating rooms before and after surgical procedures.
• Transports patients to and from operating rooms and related areas.
• Transports medications, supplies and equipment between departments in a timely manner.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and ensures compliance with hospital standards.

Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.What you will doCleans and maintains operating rooms before and after surgical procedures. Maintains cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment.Transports pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patients, both inpatients & outpatients, to and from surgical suites, Pre-op Holding, EPOH and CVICU areas.Transports requested items, such as blood, x-rays, pharmacy items, SPD items, charts, records and equipment between departments and surgical units; transports requested supplies in a timely, accurate manner.Participates in CIP, Quality Improvement and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that hospital, DNV and other quality standards are met.Maintains principles of aseptic technique according to hospital policy and procedure and AORN standards. Maintains and stores equipment in a clean/safe condition.
