Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in the DC region is seeking an experienced nurse leader to guide Perioperative services in the Verstandig Pavilion, a state-of-the-art facility with advanced surgical technology and robotics.

You will mentor a multidisciplinary team, partner with anesthesia and physicians in a Magnet-recognized academic setting, and drive safety, throughput, and patient satisfaction while advancing leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required.
• Master's degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred.
• Current RN license in the applicable state; active CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead perioperative nursing teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, physicians and care teams in a Magnet academic setting.
• Drive performance improvement, throughput, and staff engagement in the OR.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required. Master's degree in Nursing or a health related field from a nationally accredited program preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of progressive clinical nursing experience in the operating room; prior nursing leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment. CPR certification required by completion of introductory period. CNOR certification preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills; ability to manage complexity and lead multidisciplinary collaboration.
