Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking an OR Assistant for rotating night coverage (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday). The role supports surgical teams by transporting patients to the OR, maintaining asepsis, and assisting RNs to keep cases on track.

The position requires a high school diploma, CPR certification, and less than one year of related experience. Part-time night shifts offer competitive shift differential and benefits from day one.

• CPR certification required.
• Less than one year of job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to the Operating Room to allow surgical intervention to take place.
• Assists in operating room turnover, including cleaning tables and equipment.
• Transports patients from various locations throughout the hospital into the OR.
• Practices aseptic principles in the Operating Room to prevent infection.
• Assists the RN in the room to facilitate case progress.

What you’ll do:

• The OR Assistant transports patients to the Operating Room to allow surgical intervention to take place.
• Assists in operating room turnover process, including cleaning tables/equipment.
• Transports patients from various locations throughout the hospital into the OR.
• Practices aseptic principles in the Operating Room to ensure protection from infection.
• Handles supplies and specimens appropriately to ensure proper processing and maintains asepsis.
• Provides assistance to the RN in the room to facilitate the progress of the cases.

What you’ll need for this job:

• Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma
• Preferred: Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
• Minimum Experience Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
• Licensure/Certifications Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Compensation: Pay Range: $15.76-$22.11 per hour Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
