Novant Health Coastal Region seeks an Optometrist to perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and treat vision problems, and educate patients on eye health. The role involves prescribing glasses, contacts, and medications and managing the full spectrum of visual care.

The position requires strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with optometric equipment, with a variable schedule and a competitive compensation package offered within the Coastal Region of North Carolina.

Qualifications

• OD degree required and state licensure.
• Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, pathology, and pharmacology.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose visual anomalies and systemic issues.
• Prescribe glasses, contacts, and medications; manage eye diseases.
• Provide pre- and post-operative eye care with appropriate referrals when needed.
• Educate patients on eye health, safety, and vision therapy options.
• Follow department policies and maintain patient safety and quality standards.
• Refer patients to specialists when indicated.
