General Function

The Associate Optometrist is a leader in the organization, delivering the brand promise, experience and the organization's key results through collaboration and teamwork. The Associate Optometrist ensures all patients receive the highest quality optometric care by performing clinical protocols while maximizing results and practice growth through a strong partnership with the MOD, SMM and team. They deliver key performance indicators and serve as a leading ambassador of the brand, inside and outside the organization, driven by passion and high standards to always go above and beyond.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures executional excellence and winning results in partnership with the MOD and store team.
• Demonstrates commitment to exceed results through strong competency in KPI management and high accountability.
• Ensures brand is known as the leading optical provider within the community.
• Operates as a successful stakeholder to all leaders within the organization and local market.
• Places the patient/customer first and delivers excellent service.
• Strives to exceed expectations on all KPIs.
• Conveys a commitment to providing unsurpassed patient service through ensuring staff performs the following service process steps:
  • Address all patients/customers visual lifestyle needs.
  • Make eyewear recommendations based on patients/customers' needs.
  • Explain each step of the eye exam and listen carefully to patients/customers.
  • Utilize available tools and visual aids to summarize and ensure patients understand each aspect of their vision, eye health and overall well‑being.
  • Communicate effectively with patients about the need for annual eye exams and ensure all patients are scheduled in TAB for their next eye exam.
  • Conduct all services in accordance with protocol and accepted standards of care.
• Ensures all patients receive accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations.
• Establishes a positive doctor/patient relationship.
• Utilizes and leverages all technology to deliver unsurpassed patient/customer experiences.
• Ensures office systems are maintained.
• Maintains state licensure in good standing and practices to the full scope of that license, with responsibility for continuing education requirements.
• Provides effective training and guidance to team members using company‑provided programs.
• Delivers clear, motivating and constructive feedback to all associates in a timely manner.
• Creates a positive culture linked to the corporate culture, identifying individual motivators and directing conversations and actions appropriately.
• Encourages associate decision‑making at the level closest to the patient.
• Maximizes partnerships through leadership, participation and involvement.
• Takes pride in the appearance of the office.
• Maintains a safe working environment for all associates and patients.
• Leads by example.

Basic Qualifications

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
