Optometrist Opportunity | Private Practice | Flexible Schedule | California Gold Country

A well-established private optometry practice in California’s scenic Gold Country is seeking an optometrist to join its team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a doctor looking to enjoy a flexible schedule, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients in a beautiful mountain community.

The practice is open to both full-time and part-time candidates, with schedules ranging from two days per week to four days per week. Providers may have the opportunity to work in one or two nearby locations, depending on their availability and preferences.

Patient care is primarily focused on comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens services, with occasional medical co-management and referrals to local specialists when appropriate. Patients range from teenagers through the geriatric population, allowing the incoming doctor to provide personalized care while practicing in a relaxed, patient-centered environment.

Doctors typically see between 14 and 25 patients per day, depending on the day’s schedule and office workload, allowing ample time to focus on quality care rather than high patient volume.

The practice is supported by experienced technicians who assist with patient workups, allowing doctors to concentrate on patient care. Optional scribe support is also available when needed. The office utilizes Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) electronic health records and is seeking an optometrist who is comfortable performing comprehensive eye exams and fitting both soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

The practice offers flexible scheduling to accommodate a variety of lifestyles.

Full-Time Option

• Tuesday-Friday
• Tuesday & Friday: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
• Wednesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• One-hour lunch break daily

Part-Time Option

• Thursday-Friday schedule available
• Additional flexibility may be discussed based on candidate availability

Compensation & Benefits

• $600-$650 daily rate, depending on experience
