Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Crestview, FL. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, ocular health assessments, and contact lens evaluations for patients of varying ages and visual needs. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions, co-managing surgical cases with ophthalmologists when appropriate, and educating patients on treatment plans, preventive care, and vision solutions. The Optometrist will document findings accurately in the medical record, prescribe glasses and contact lenses, and ensure appropriate follow-up and referrals. The role also involves collaborating with technicians, front office staff, and other eye care professionals to support efficient clinic flow and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, or eligibility for, optometry licensure in the state of Florida.
• Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye exams, refractions, contact lens fittings, and ocular health evaluations, with attention to detail and clinical accuracy.
• Experience diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions (e.g., dry eye, glaucoma suspects, diabetic eye disease) and coordinating care with other eye care professionals.
• Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care in a clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive manner.
• Comfort working with electronic health records and modern diagnostic equipment (e.g., autorefractors, OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical setting, contributing to smooth patient flow and collaborative problem-solving.
• Commitment to maintaining professional ethics, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advances in optometry and eye care.
• Prior experience in a medical or optometry practice setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
