Qualifications

• OD degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Current Minnesota optometry license.
• Significant pediatric and senior eye care experience.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with healthcare systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with succession planning and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including vision tests, to diagnose and treat a range of eye conditions.
• Prescribe and fit contact lenses and glasses, as well as recommend lenses for patients.
• Provide pediatric eye care, including eye exams for children and management of pediatric eye conditions.
• Offer senior care, focusing on the unique eye health needs of older adults.
• Work closely with other medical professionals to ensure seamless care and succession planning.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry and medical coding.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including vital signs and medical history.
• Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and provide guidance on eye health and hygiene.
• Utilize systems and software to manage patient data, schedule appointments, and perform billing and insurance tasks.

Job Overview

The position can be part-time or full-time, as little as 1 day per week, or on-call.

Commission optional.

Ownership option available.

Doctor hours begin at 9 am Monday through Friday. The last appointment is scheduled at 5 pm Monday through Thursday and 4 pm on Friday. No weekends!
