Job summary

Partners Insight in Alexandria, VA, seeks a licensed optometrist for a float role across three area locations. The ideal candidate will perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose vision defects, and prescribe lenses and medications with patient-centered care.

Applicants should be a graduate or in the fourth year, licensed or pursuing OD licensure, and able to clearly explain medical terms. Co-management with local ophthalmologists is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate from School of Optometry, or currently enrolled in 4th year of Optometry school.
• Licensed in or in process of obtaining OD licensure.
• In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects.
• Ability to explain medical terms clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests.
• Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma.
• Provide personalized solutions based on patient history and case.
• Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses.
• Advise patients on proper eye care techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
• Co-manage patients with local ophthalmologists.

Our Business Partner, a family-oriented group provides service vision care for all age groups, children and adults, is hiring an Optometrist licensed in Alexandria, VA. Their friendly, comfortable, and professional offices are located inside select retail locations.

**This is a float position to three different locations in the area**

Job Description

Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, diagnosing potential vision imparities, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. To be successful in this role, the optometrist should be detail oriented, able to treat patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly. Ultimately, you will ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests
• Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma
• Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to visual imparities based on each patient’s specific case and medical history
• Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses
• Advise patients on proper eye care techniques
• Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients
• Advise patients on how to use and maintain their contact lenses
• Co-management of patients with local Ophthalmologists

Requirements

• Graduate from School of Optometry, or currently enrolled in your 4th year of Optometry school
• Licensed in or in process of obtaining OD licensure
• In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects
• The ability to explain medical terms in a clear and concise manner

To be considered for this position, you need to be a licensed optometrist, in the process of acquiring your license, or currently enrolled as a fourth-year student in an accredited School of Optometry.
