Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the total patient experience. You will assist optometrists with initial testing using ophthalmic equipment and help prepare patients for exams.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in a customer-facing position. Medical office experience is preferred, and the ability to work in a HIPAA-compliant environment is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
  • Favorable result on background check as required by state.
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
  • Practice urgency at all times placing value on a patient’s time, as well as the doctor’s time and schedule
  • Operate ophthalmic testing equipment and instruments as listed (lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual fields, OCT)
  • Follow scripting for testing equipment and patient testing processes
  • Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
  • Interact courteously with all levels of staff
  • Assist with general office duties and housekeeping as assigned
  • Contribute to a positive, patient-focused team environment
  • Support schedules that may include weekends or extended hours
