Job summary

Southside Eyecare & Optical in Anchorage, AK is seeking a dual-role team member for pretesting and front desk duties. You will help patients by taking histories, performing tests, and supporting doctors during exams in a busy optometric office.

Ideal candidates are friendly, reliable, and detail oriented, comfortable with computers, and able to switch between tech work and front desk tasks as needed. High school diploma required; CPO/COA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Optometric, ophthalmic, or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• In the exam area: Take patient histories and note the reason for the visit.
• Check visual acuity and run pretesting, including auto-refraction, eye pressure, and visual fields.
• Capture Optos retinal images, OCT scans, and corneal topography.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist the doctors during exams and in-office procedures.
• Keep equipment clean, stocked, and ready.

If you enjoy working with people, like learning new equipment, and want to be the person who makes a patient's visit easy, we'd like to meet you. You'll be cross-trained in both pretesting and the front desk, so no two days look the same.

What you'll do

In the exam area:
