Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for exams, performing preliminary testing, and learning pretest equipment. Training will be provided; weekend and evenings may be required to meet patient needs.

Candidate should be personable, patient, and detail oriented, with a willingness to learn about the industry and services. High school diploma or GED is required; healthcare/optical background is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; ability to understand basic math.
  • Personable and patient with patients during screening process.
  • Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
  • Willingness to learn about industry, products and services.
  • Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
  • Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for Prep to Optometrist exam.
  • Keep a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures encountered during visits.
  • Learn to operate pretest equipment for visual screenings prior to the doctor visit.
  • Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
  • Collaborate with doctors and team to provide seamless patient experience.
