America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking a on-site optical assistant in Federal Way. You will support patient care, perform pre-tests, and explain preliminary exams in a friendly retail setting.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills and willingness to learn optical terminology, with an emphasis on accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Experience in retail/optical environments is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn optical terminology and patient workflow.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure high quality patient care within a retail optical setting.
• Maintain professional office and pretest room appearance.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients and perform pre-tests.
• Review prescriptions and patient information with staff when needed.
• Maintain and organize ophthalmic equipment and supplies.

Job Description

What would you do? - The Specifics

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor's office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases and know the ocular abbreviations.
• Explain to the patient the types of preliminary examinations.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing on patients prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and/or patient information carefully and identify special needs. Consult with the optician, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
• Ensure equipment, both Doctor's and pre-test, is properly maintained.
