Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for exams, performing preliminary tests, and learning pretest equipment.

No optical experience is required as training will be provided to learn the industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience. Flexible weekend and evening shifts are required, and the role involves collaborating with doctors and office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and comfort throughout visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required with the ability to understand basic math.
• Personable and patient with the ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services and be a collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and concerns to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth patient flow to Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patient comfort with office procedures during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for visual screenings prior to doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training and other preliminary testing as applicable.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide seamless patient experience.

You Will

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience

About You

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math
• Someone who is personable, patient and has the ability to comfort patients during screening process
• Someone who is detailed oriented and who will work closely with the Optometrist
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services
• Collaborative team player that will provide the best patient experience
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required, training will be provided for the right candidate
