Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience required; training and tools provided to help you learn and deliver a best-in-class vision care experience.

Some weekend and evening shifts may be required. You will greet patients, document medical history, assist with pretests, and coordinate with staff to ensure a smooth flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on excellent patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to Doctor and staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience.

You Will

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience

About You

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math

• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required, training will be provided for the right candidate
