Kids for the Future is hiring an Optometric Technician in Training in Indianapolis. You’ll start as the doctor’s right hand, performing pre-tests, gathering health information, and prepping patients for care. We provide extensive training, with a two-week paid program and opportunities to grow your skills.

This full-time, non-exempt role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinic, travel to other locations if needed, and a pathway to certifications for wage increases.

As an Optometric Tech in Training, you’ll serve as the doctor’s right hand—conducting pre-tests, gathering vital health information, and ensuring every patient is prepped for an exceptional experience. It’s technical. It’s fast-paced. And it’s meaningful work that makes a lasting impact.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-tests and diagnostic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Collect and document patient medical histories and current health information.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and help manage clinic flow.
• Maintain clean, functional equipment for a seamless patient experience.
• Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit authorizations.
• Stay current with training and actively work to grow your skills.
• Ability to travel to support other locations only if needed.
