Job summary

Dr. Tavel Vision Center in Columbus, IN is seeking an Optometric Technician in Training. You’ll serve as the doctor’s right hand, performing pre-tests, collecting vital health information, and assisting with exams to ensure a smooth patient experience.

No eye care experience is required; a two-week paid training is mandatory, and we invest in your growth with skill development, bilingual pay options, and opportunities for certifications and wage increases.

• Availability to work during office hours including some Saturdays.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-tests and diagnostic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Collect and document patient medical histories and current health information.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and help manage clinic flow.
• Maintain clean, functional equipment for a seamless patient experience.
• Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit authorizations.
• Stay current with training and actively work to grow your skills.
• Ability to travel to support other locations only if needed.
