Job summary

Total Vision LLC, TV Talega in San Clemente, CA, seeks an energetic front desk/patient care assistant to support pretesting and patient flow. You will greet patients and manage scheduling while assisting with pretesting and health history documentation.

The role involves assisting with tests like blood pressure and autoperimetry, promoting health evaluations, and helping with contact lens training. This hourly, full-time position demands strong communication in a fast-paced eye-care setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming patients and escort them to pretesting before the exam.
• Handle administrative duties including answering calls and scheduling appointments per doctor preferences.
• Perform pretesting such as blood pressure, NCT, color and stereo, and autoperimetry.
• Advocate for overall health evaluation (e.g., Optomap) during visits.
• Collect and relay pertinent health and ocular history to the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens insertion and removal training.
• Order various types of contact lenses and maintain supplies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Warmly greet incoming patients upon taking them back for pretesting before the exam.


• Administrative duties including answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments per doctor preferences and transcribing messages for return calls and faxes.


• Perform pretesting including blood pressure, NCT, color and stereo, and autoperimetry.


• Advocate for overall health evaluation (i.e. Optomap).


• Collect and relay pertinent health and ocular history to the doctor.


• Conduct contact lens insertion and removal training.


• Order various types of contact lenses.


• Maintain and clean equipment and doctor’s lanes.


• Maintain proper levels of pretest/doctor supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.


• Experience in the Ophthalmic/Optometric/medical industry is a plus but is not required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time, read a computer screen for long periods of time, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs. Hand dexterity, and eye and hand coordination critical. Employee is subject to inside environmental conditions.

Employee’s schedule could include after hour projects, as needed.

Travel, as needed between practices. Saturday availability is required.
