Job summary

Eagle Vision One is hiring an Optometric Assistant to join a growing team serving the Treasure Valley. You will work with our doctors to guide patients through visits, perform preliminary tests, and help educate on contact lens care in a supportive, patient‑focused environment.

We offer paid on-the-job training and mentoring as we expand with new Eye Health Center in October and a Star location in December, creating opportunity for career growth and advancement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning electronic medical records.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing patients for eye examinations by reviewing medical history and performing preliminary testing.
  • Conducting diagnostic testing, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, retinal imaging, and other specialized testing.
  • Assisting providers during patient examinations.
  • Educating patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and proper care.
  • Maintaining, cleaning, and calibrating diagnostic equipment.
  • Accurately documenting patient information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Creating a welcoming, positive experience by answering patient questions and providing outstanding customer service.

What You'll Do

As an Optometric Assistant, you'll work alongside our doctors to provide exceptional care and help patients through every step of their visit. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing patients for their eye examinations by reviewing medical history and performing preliminary testing.
  • Conducting diagnostic testing, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, retinal imaging, and other specialized testing.
  • Assisting providers during patient examinations.
