Alcon is seeking an Opto-Mechanical Engineer in Lake Forest, CA, to support Surgical Instrumentation R&D. The role encompasses opto-mechanical design, alignment, metrology, and integration of optical sub-systems within complex medical devices.

Responsibilities include device testing, prototyping, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure design control and manufacturability. Strong CAD skills and ophthalmic domain knowledge are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equiv. years of related experience.
• Fluent in reading/writing English.
• Experience with opto-mechanical engineering in ophthalmic devices is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Apply opto-mechanical engineering knowledge to ophthalmic diagnostic devices.
• Design lens barrels, housings, bonding and mounting techniques.
• Conduct thermo-mechanical analyses and system integration studies.
• Support prototyping, testing, V&V and ramp-up to production.
• Create GD&T parts drawings and tolerance analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Optics, Mechanical, Electrical, Software).
