Responsibilities

• Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription and lifestyle

• Coordinate dispensing and notify patients when ready

As an Optician, you’ll do more than help patients choose glasses—you’ll help them find eyewear that fits their vision needs, lifestyle, and personal style. You’ll combine patient care, fashion, and attention to detail to create an experience patients remember.

What You’ll Do

Help Patients Find the Right Eyewear

• Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences


• Explain doctor recommendations, lens options, features, and benefits in an easy-to-understand way


• Help patients find eyewear that fits their needs, style, and budget


• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and use

Manage Orders from Start to Finish

• Accurately enter and manage spectacle orders


• Verify insurance eligibility and calculate patient co-pays


• Track orders and communicate updates to patients


• Notify patients when eyewear is ready and coordinate dispensing


• Follow up with patients to ensure satisfaction and successful adaptation

Fit, Adjust, and Troubleshoot

• Perform eyewear fittings and adjustments


• Complete minor repairs as needed


• Listen to patient concerns and help resolve eyewear-related issues

Keep the Optical Area Running Smoothly

• Maintain accurate inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies


• Create and maintain organized, attractive eyewear displays


• Support efficient patient flow and communicate delays when needed

Be a Team Player

• Collaborate with doctors, providers, and team members to create a seamless patient experience


• Step in and support the practice wherever needed

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
