Job summary

Lyte in Sunnyvale, CA, designs optical test systems for manufacturing of its advanced perception technology. This Hands-on role owns end-to-end test equipment from concept to production, focusing on IQC and OQC stations, opto‑mechanical fixtures, and integration with MES.

You'll work with optical, mechanical, firmware, and quality teams, travel to Asia/US sites, and scale testers across lines, ensuring data quality and repeatability.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Optical Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years designing automated test equipment for optical or opto‑mechanical products.
• Hands-on experience with optical test instrumentation like MTF benches, interferometers, and beam profilers.
• Proficiency in Python and/or LabVIEW for instrument control and data acquisition.
• Experience taking testers from lab to production with tool-to-tool replication.

Responsibilities

• Design automated IQC stations for high-volume production screening incoming optics.
• Build OQC stations to verify subsystem performance and pre-shipment tests.
• Architect end-to-end test systems including fixturing, motion, sensing, and MES integration.
• Develop test software to sequence measurements and apply pass/fail criteria.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams and external partners to scale tools.
